Walk with your guide along the Bryggen Pier, where the German office of the Hanseatic League of Merchants was once located. Beautiful wooden warehouses still stand here, impervious to the passage of time.
You will pass the famous Fish & Flower Market and board the Floien Funicular for an eight-minute ride to 1,197 feet above sea level.
At the top of Mount Floien, hike to Lake Skomakerdiket. Enjoy the increasingly spectacular views as you ascend until you reach the highest point, Rundemannsvegen, approximately 45 minutes later, at an elevation of 1,797 feet. Then, head back to the funicular and return to the center of Bergen. You will stroll back to the ship along the pier.
Please note: Participants must be in relatively good physical condition; not suitable for those with a heart condition, weak knees or other health concerns. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. The route taken may vary depending on current weather conditions and the collective physical ability of the participants. This is a strenuous hike of around 2.5 hours, gaining approximately 800 feet of elevation and covering a distance of five miles. Terrain includes even and uneven surfaces, inclines, gravel, grass, and steps. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf. Minimum age is 16 years.
