Experience what it is like to be a local crab fisherman on the west coast of Bergen, as you assist in preparing the crab pots from beginning to end. From pulling crab of the ocean to helping cook your catch for a scrumptious taste at your host’s boathouse, this is a hands-on experience.
Once you are fitted with a weatherproof suit, your adventure begins on a high-speed RIB ride to the coast of Bergen where your fishing boat awaits you. You will head a short distance out toward the North Sea, where local fisherman are familiar with the best brown crab fishing spots. The robust brown crab make their home in the clear fresh waters of the Norwegian coastline and it is known that the crab never sleep or even close their eyes.
After pulling up a few crab pots you will arrive at your host’s boathouse to learn how to prepare your catch. The crab will be served the Norwegian way accompanied by bread, butter, lemon and mayonnaise. Sit back and enjoy your meal while your host shares stories about life on the islands.
On your return RIB ride to the city, appreciate the coastal landscape and magnificent scenery that surrounds you.
