Board a comfortable motor coach and set off towards the Comeragh Mountains—the backbone of Waterford County. Here, your countryside drive turns toward the Atlantic Coast. Follow the cliff road along a more rugged coastline, through the colorful and charming villages of Boatstrand, Annestown and Fenor—an area known as the copper coast, since copper mining was once a thriving activity near Bunmahon. Before leaving the coastal road, you will travel through Tramore. This seaside resort, whose name means large beach in Gaelic, boasts delightful terraced houses overlooking a broad bay. Of Victorian vintage, it is one of Ireland's most popular resorts and has flourished since the 1850s when it was first linked to Waterford by rail. As you continue northeast of Tramore, the terrain now changes to fertile farmland and you will be invited into a country pub for a cool beverage and some traditional Irish entertainment. You’ll drive through Waterford en route back to the ship.
