Brønnøysund was an important trading port in the late 19th century due to its protected harbor. With broader horizons came a zest for tasty food supplied by the farms that dot Brønnøysund's hinterland.
Head through scenic surroundings to Hildur's Herb Garden, located in the little settlement of Tilrem. Tilrem Farm is about 320 acres of cultivated grassland, where the primary production is milk and beef.
Step into the main building, which is also the private home of your host and hostess. Take a walk through the garden to see different shrubs, roses and herbs -- about 200 different plant species are found here.
You'll be invited into the Summer Café to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee accompanied by the cake of the day.
Afterward, enjoy a panoramic drive through the oldest part of the town, crossing the Brønnøysund bridge to capture wonderful views. See Brønnøy Church (outside) on a guided stroll through the town.
Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes.
