Located in the jurisdiction of Saint-Emilion, Château de Ferrand is an enchanting 17th-century château surrounded by vines overlooking the Dordogne Valley. It was built during the reign of Louis XIV and is a rare jewel that is accessible to the public.
The Château was purchased by Baron Bich in 1978, and it is now the property of his children. Baron Bich is world famous for a ballpoint pen sold all over the planet, as well as disposable razors and lighters. The function room and wine cellars have been elegantly and stylishly refurbished by a renowned Italian designer.
The estate's wines have been a leading light among the great Bordeaux wine estates for three hundred years. In 2012, Ferrand won deserved recognition for the unanimously acclaimed quality of its wines when the estate was awarded Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé status.
Foodies who are hungry to learn will participate in a workshop combining useful tips with a pleasurable culinary experience. This workshop comes in the form of an entertaining lesson to further your knowledge of wine and also includes a delicious meal at the Château.
After a private tour of the estate and its cellars, you will enjoy four dishes and four vintages of Château de Ferrand. Taste, savor, compare -- see what you think -- while the sommelier explains the secrets of successful food and wine pairing that will awaken your senses.
End your stay at Château de Ferrand with a café gourmand (gourmet coffee).
Please note: Tour requires approximately one hour of walking. Terrain includes even and uneven surfaces, cobblestones and steps.
