The name Val de Saire evokes wonderful scenic images, not only of the delightful Saire Valley, but of the whole northeast of the peninsula.
From Cherbourg you will drive to Barfleur and straight back to the Middle Ages! This picturesque fishing port and yachting harbor was once the busiest place in Cotentin and, in more recent centuries, has been a favorite vacation spot for English aristocrats and monarchs. Stop here to browse and to see its many charms for yourself.
Then, you'll follow the scenic route to reach the village of Saint Vaast la Hougue. Located on the coast of the Val de Saire, Saint Vaast is a pleasant harbor. It is quite famous for its oysters and is also popular as a seaside resort. The fortifications that protect the port date back to 17th century. They were rebuilt following the stunning defeat at the naval battle of La Hougue.
Drive back to Cherbourg and the ship after your tour.
