Enjoy a tour to Gothenburg's beautiful northern archipelago. Öckerö municipality spans ten different islands and is situated only 25 minutes from Gothenburg. This maritime province is connected to the mainland only by ferry.
Öckerö is home to many fishing boats and boathouses. This genuine archipelago environment brings you close to Arctic flora, ancient relics, and stunning views, including beautiful harbors and charming fishing huts.
A panoramic drive takes you from one island to another, with a short stop at the old Öckerö Church, dating back to the Middle Ages. Visit the local folklore center for coffee and a pastry. Take the bridge from Öckerö to the islands of Hönö and Fotö with a breathtaking view of the archipelago en route.
Join your guide on a walking tour through a typical old fishing village, where fishing huts nestle into a granite landscape. Browse in artisan craft shops in one of the picturesque fishing villages; then, rejoin your coach and return to the ship by ferry.
Notes:
Dress warmly in layers with a windproof and waterproof outer layer; bring a warm hat, gloves and a scarf. Bring a backpack to stow any layers you shed.
