Depart Greenock and drive south to Ayrshire through the landscape that spoke to Scotland's world-renowned poet, Robert Burns. Alloway was his birthplace, and today, you will see plentiful reminders of the man and his comical, literary and poetic world.
Upon arrival, your guide will introduce you to Burns National Heritage Park and offer suggestions on what to see. You are free to explore the museum and park at your leisure; your guide will be on hand to answer questions.
Experience the rich heritage of Burns -- Scotland's favorite poet -- within the very environment that inspired him. The little cottage where Burns was born has been fully restored and shows what life was like at the time of his childhood.
Follow in Tam o' Shanter's footsteps to atmospheric Alloway Auld Kirk and over the Brig o' Doon bridge. Spend time at Statue House, where you can see statues of Robert Burns' cronies created by the self-taught sculptor James Thom.
Visit the Burns Monument, where Burns tourism began back in 1823. It has since become a place of pilgrimage for those paying homage to Scotland's National Poet.
