Experience the thrill of off-road adventure as you and your traveling companion explore the historical sites of Vestmannaeyjar riding on a fun all-terrain vehicle (ATV). The ATVs are automatic and are easy to drive.
Listen to a safety briefing; then, hop on your ATV and head to Prestvik Beach, where the fishing boat Pelagus ran aground. You’ll see the spot where Guðlaugur Friðþórsson came ashore after swimming 3-4 miles in the dark and cold sea after Hellisey VE 503 sank.
Drive your ATV around the lava field from 1973 and past Eldfell volcano. Skirt the coastline for breathtaking views.
Please note: This tour is sold per ATV, accommodating two guests who will take turns driving. Only one person in your party needs to book the ATV. Bring a valid driver’s license. Minimum age to drive is 18 years. Minimum age for non-drivers is 10 years. Guests who are pregnant or have a back or neck condition are not allowed to participate.
