Exciting, exhilarating, memorable -- welcome to Expedition Experiences by Seabourn. Zodiac, kayaking or hiking activities enable you to experience the wonders of nature up close; in-depth cultural, ethnographic and archaeological discoveries connect you to the human and natural history of Seabourn's world. Each Expedition is expertly planned, professionally operated, and escorted by skilled expedition staff.
Your excursion includes a one-hour Zodiac cruise exploring the beautiful scenery of Nordfjord and viewing the towns of Loen and Olden. Step ashore at Loen, right in front of the Hoven Loen cable car station. The cable car is one of the most spectacular adventure-tourism projects in Norway. You will board the cable car for the rather dramatic five-minute ascent to the top of Mt Hoven (3,040 feet/1,011 meters). From the upper station and restaurant, take in the 210-degree, breathtaking panoramic view. The vista stretches from Mt Skåla and Lake Lovatnet in the east, past Jostedalsbreen Glacier and Olden in the south, and over to Nordfjord, winding its way towards Stryn, in the west. You will have plenty of time at the top to enjoy the breathtaking views and stunning architecture of the station. At your leisure, take the cable car back down and tender back to the ship.
Please note: Tour departs from and returns to the ship. It is essential that you wear warm, layered clothing in order to fully enjoy and participate in this excursion. Outer layer should be waterproof and windproof. Bring gloves, a warm hat and a scarf. Bring binoculars. Wear sunglasses and biodegradable sunscreen; bring insect repellent. Bring a waterproof bag for your devices. There are steps to negotiate when (dis)embarking the Zodiac, with assistance offered. Tour generally operates rain or shine but may be canceled in the event of extremely bad weather or unsuitable conditions. Minimum age is 6 years. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Terrain is uneven with steep inclines, steps and protruding rocks.
