Today you will be heading North of Åland, to Getaberget. On route your will notice several apple orchards and pass numerous small villages.
Arrive to the most Northern part of the main Island where the nature is barren and rocky surrounded by open Sea you will set out on a hike with a local guide. Getabergen Hills offer fantastic sea views in a barren rocky setting with low pine trees.
The nature trail leads mainly over smooth flat red granite rocks and nature paths with low vegetation.
The trail initially slopes slightly down towards the seafront where there are interesting cave-like rock formations, which were used as shelter for the locals during the Great Northern war in the 18th century. The path continues to Djupviken Bay before looping back to the starting point.
At the end of the hike, enjoy a well-deserved cup of fresh coffee and local pancakes. Before you re-join the coach, you have time take photos and admire the nature.
Please note: Guests must be in good physical condition and be able to keep up with the group. The route is approximately 3 1/2 miles long and can be slippery in parts.
