After a panoramic drive through Åland’s beautiful landscape, arrive at Tjudö, one of Åland’s best known apple farm reguions. The Åland archipelago climate, with its long cool spring, bright summer nights and warm days, are the ideal growing conditions to produce exceedingly tasty fruit.
Upon arrival, your hosts will welcome you to their farm for an introductions and short tour of their unique apple plantation. This is no regular farm, but one Finland’s most awarded internationally for the quality of its apples.
After getting better acquainted with your hosts and learning more about their personal journey from humble farmers to becoming the countries’ top small producers, you will have an opportunity to taste of a selection of different types of apple juices, paired with some local snacks. Take some time to explore the property, shop for local products in their the onsite shop or simply enjoy spending time in the Finnish countryside.
Finally, it is time to say goodbye to the hosts. You will stop for photos at St Michaels church, before returning to Mariehamn.
Please note: Restrooms at the apple farm are compostable dry toilets.
