Journey over the Firth of Forth and through the rolling countryside and farmland of the Kingdom of Fife to St Andrews.
St Andrews is famed the world over as the golf capital and the game has been played here on the famous Old Course since the 15th century. There is, however, much more to the town than just golf.
St Andrews Cathedral (now lying in splendid ruins) was one of Scotland's largest cathedrals and the waterfront castle dates from AD 1200.
The city is also home to the country's oldest university. Prince William and Princess Catherine both studied here. Its lovely architecture and friendly atmosphere permeate the town.
Walk on the St Andrews Golf Course to see the famous Swilken Bridge. A specialist Old Course guide enlightens you on the history of St Andrews and how it became the Home of Golf. Golfers from all across the globe yearn for a round on these famous links.
With an appetite suitably worked up, dig into a traditional lunch of locally-sourced fish and chips at the pub on the 18th green.
Explore the town at your leisure -- every nook and cranny exudes an unbroken history as a seat of learning. The quaint streets are lined with shops, cafés and museums.
Please note: Tour requires approximately one hour of waking. Terrain includes even and uneven surfaces, cobblestones, inclines, gravel, grass, and steps.
