Founded by the Romans as a thermal spa, Bath became an important center of the wool industry in the Middle Ages. In the 18th century, under King George III, it developed into an elegant town with neo-Classical Palladian buildings designed to blend harmoniously with the carefully restored Roman baths.
A 2.5-hour panoramic drive brings you to Bath, where you will admire the charming Pulteney Bridge. Completed in 1774, this is the only bridge in England lined with shops on both sides, featuring three arches and a central Venetian window.
Don’t miss the sweeping Royal Crescent, easily one of the most beautiful streets in all of England. Here, you will visit the spectacular Roman-Georgian baths for which the city is named.
You will have free time to shop and purchase lunch (at your own expense) before you return to Portland.
Please note: Lunch is not included. You will have time to purchase lunch at your own expense during the tour. Travel time to Bath is around 2.5 hours each way.
