Liverpool has a Beatles tour, New York offers Sex & the City tours. Don't leave Stockholm without learning all about ABBA and the Stockholm of the 1970s. The tour revels in disco-glittery ABBA history and also examines the transformation of the Stockholm during the 1970s. This decade was important in Stockholm's history — the old Klara Quarter was demolished, it was the Velour Man era, and the king married and formally handed power to the parliament.
With more than 400 million records sold worldwide, ABBA is one of the most successful pop bands of all time. Although only one ABBA member was born in Stockholm, the group worked and lived there for many years.
Leaving the pier on a panoramic drive, you'll pass City Hall, where Benny performed for the very first time. Watch for the Sheraton Hotel, where many ABBA videos were recorded. It is also one of the city's most distinctive 1970s landmarks.
Leave the coach for a walking tour that takes you to the Royal Opera — the scene of ABBA's legendary 1976 royal wedding gala performance. Benny and Anni-Frid lived nearby in the Old Town.
Please note: Tour requires considerable walking. Terrain includes even and uneven surfaces, cobblestones, inclines, and steps. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair. Mobility devices (wheelchairs, walkers, scooters, etc) cannot be accommodated on the transportation.
