Depart from the harbor in Tobermory on foot with your knowledgeable guide.
The path leads away from the marina and climbs gently through the woodland along the side of Tobermory Bay. You'll have fabulous views out to Calve Island, possibly even glimpsing some seals out on the skerries.
Follow the track to the old pier, where timber was once shipped from the Aros Estate for building and repairs in the town. You'll hear about the Allans -- a shipping family who gave a park to the people of Tobermory. The view from here back to Tobermory is breathtaking. After bird watching at the pier you'll proceed to Lochan a Ghurrabain. As you walk around this attractive small lake, take a detour to see the old powerhouse and spectacular Upper Falls. The woodland area consists of many varieties of shrub, fungi and trees. In places, the park has a temperate rain forest feel to it, and many interesting ferns and grasses grow freely. However, the most spectacular display is created by the large number of Rhododendron ponticum.
Leaving the park, travel back in time to the Bronze Age with a view of the Standing Stones at Baliscate before descending into Tobermory and returning to the ship.
Please note: Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
