Walk through Tallinn, whose medieval fortifications grew up in the 13th century, creating a readily defensible city behind one of the strongest wall systems in Northern Europe.
Visit one of the old towers to admire the beautiful views across Tallinn's Old Town. The route takes you past Long Leg Gate, the Great Guild and the Church of the Holy Spirit.
Follow narrow cobblestone streets on the way to Town Hall Square to see two outstanding buildings -- the Town Hall dating from 1404, and the Town Council's Apothecary (1422).
In the Rotermann Quarter, old industrial buildings have taken on a new on life. The famous Estonian Kalev Chocolate Factory has opened a shop here, selling chocolate, marzipan and confectionary. You'll participate in a hands-on truffle-making workshop. Under the supervision of an experienced Master Confectioner, learn how to make delicious fillings for your truffles and how to cover them with chocolate. Browse in the factory shop for some treats before returning to the pier.
Please note: Walking is required on cobblestone streets; there are steps in the medieval tower and in the chocolate workshop. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations.
