Discover the wonders of Trondheimfjord by rigid inflatable boat (RIB). This bird watcher's paradise features monastic ruins and the still-active Maria Monastery.
Speed across the fjord on your way to Tautra Island, rich in bird life, flora and fauna. Tautra is a bird sanctuary with thousands of sea birds and Eider ducks mating and breeding here each spring and summer. Check out the ruins of the original Tautra Monastery, dating back to AD 1207.
Step inside the modern Maria Monastery, which houses 18 nuns, a small church, and all the facilities needed to live a remote and peaceful life.
Visit the charming Klostergården farm to taste produce grown here and savor a beer brewed on Tautra.
