Step aboard an open-air wooden boat for a delightful cruise along the canal and Nid River, passing by colorful warehouses, the iconic old bridge, Kristiansten Fortress, and finally reaching the majestic Nidaros Cathedral. Disembark at Ravnkloa to begin your guided walking tour.
Stroll through Trondheim's streets, soaking in its village-like atmosphere and unique blend of ancient and modern architecture. Admire the Market Square, home to the statue of King Olav, founder of the city. Cross the quaint Old Bridge and wander through the picturesque old town of Bakklandet, adorned with vibrant wooden houses.
Experience the innovative bicycle elevator, designed specifically for cyclists, before reaching the magnificent Nidaros Cathedral. Marvel at this splendid 12th-century Gothic structure, Scandinavia's largest medieval building, built over the grave of St. Olav. Adorned with intricate stone carvings and magnificent stained-glass windows, the cathedral is a true architectural masterpiece.
Please note: Dress warmly in layered clothing and comfortable walking shoes. Rain ponchos, blankets, and life jackets will be provided onboard the open-air boats. The tour involves approximately 2.2 miles (3.5 km) of walking on cobblestone roads and participants must be able to manage 2 large steps in/out of the boat. A comfort stop is available at the Nidaros Cathedral visitor's center.
