Your truly memorable visit to Tromsø begins with this amazing opportunity to explore by helicopter.
A short transfer brings you to the heliport. Hop aboard with a friendly, experienced, and safety-certified pilot, and you will soon be high above the city and harbor. Look down on Tromsø and the beautiful mountains surrounding the city. Fly over the cable car – Tromsø's most popular tourist destination -- which whisks visitors from Solliveien in Tromsdalen up to the mountain ledge at Storsteinen in just four minutes.
Unparalleled views from the helicopter include the majestic Tromsdalstinden Mountain, which towers 4,000 feet above sea level. On a fine day, you'll also discover a small taste of the Lyngen Alps.
Learn about the city's landmarks and significant buildings, as well as its long and interesting history.
Your flight ends back at Langnes Airport passing, on final approach, the World War II shipwreck of the Tirpitz. Interestingly, the Tirpitz was the heaviest battleship ever built by a European navy.
Please note: Tour operates weather permitting. All flights are subject to weight and balance limitations. Maximum weight is 260 lbs. The operator reserves the right to cancel due to poor visibility or high wind. There is a step to board the helicopter and, for safety reasons, guests cannot be carried on to the helicopter. If you are unable to board, no refund will be given. If seated in a wheelchair, you will be helped on board. A four- or five-seater helicopter is used. The pilot will decide the seating arrangements -- not all participants will have a window seat although everyone will enjoy a good view. There will be commentary in English during the flight. Transfer time is approximately 15 minutes each way depending on traffic. You may have a wait, either before or after the flight, if transport to/from the airport is shared. Walking is required to reach the transfer vehicle and at the heliport; the ground may be icy or snowy. The route will depend on weather conditions. Flight time is approximately 26-33 minutes.
