Transfer by motor coach to Deauville -- a famous seaside resort known for its wooden plank promenade, which runs the length of the beach. The Planches, as it is called, is lined with elegant buildings including the Pompeian Baths and the Soleil Bar, where celebrities are often seen.
Upon arrival in Deauville, enjoy an orientation tour that acquaints you with this delightful town. Free time follows for you to explore on your own.
Re-board your coach for a scenic drive through villages and bocages -- small fields delineated by hedges and trees creating a pastoral setting.
Discover local products by visiting the charming House of Drouin distillery, installed in a set of 17th century Norman houses. Founded by Christian Drouin senior in the 1960’s and with the support of a well-known and established distiller from the northern part of Pays d’Auge, this modest cider-apple farm grew into the award winning, third generation, family owned business that it is today.
A warm welcome awaits you, see the apple press and the distillery with its bright copper stills, followed by the castle's cellar where the renowned Calvados ages in oak casks. You are then invited to sample the Calvados in the tasting room and delight in the perfection of this outstanding brandy. Following your tasting, re-board the coach for the return drive back to Rouen.
Please note: In the event that Drouin distillery is unavailable on the date of our call, an alternative venue will be used instead.
