After a short journey via shuttle bus, you'll arrive in Rouen city center.
Follow your knowledgeable guide on a guided walk down rue Saint Romain, one of the town's most fascinating streets with the beautiful St-Maclou Church in Gothic-Flamboyant style. Continue along the bustling and popular Rue du Gros Horloge which features a unique medieval defensive clock tower and the nearby law court situated in an outstanding Renaissance building.
Pause to visit inside the Notre-Dame Cathedral of Rouen. Built between the 13th and the 16th centuries, it is considered one of the finest achievements of the French Gothic art. The attraction of Rouen's cathedral lies in its infinite variety, including an immense façade bedecked with openwork pinnacles and framed by two totally different towers — the Tour St-Romain on the left and the Tour de Beurre on the right.
Enjoy some free time for shopping at Place du Vieux Marché. It was on this Old Market Square that Joan of Arc was burned at the stake following her trial as a heretic in 1431.
Afterwards return to the ship with your guide. Time permitting, guests wishing to stay in town to shop or explore independently are welcome to do so, but must make their own way back to the ship.
Please note: Tour requires around 1½ hours of walking followed by free time. The ships shuttle bus service is used for the transfers; guests can make their own way back to the ship at their leisure. Tour does not operate on Mondays.
