Departing St Malo by motorcoach, watch for the Barrage de la Rance Power Station, which harnesses the action of the tide to create electricity.
A scenic 45-minute drive along a winding road and through lovely countryside brings you to the little port of Dinan, located at the head of the Rance Estuary. Upon arrival, begin a guided walking tour of this charming medieval town. See the houses of the Old Town clustered together behind the long circuit of walls. This fortification was built by the Dukes of Brittany in the 14th century. You will also see St Sauveur's Basilica, Place des Merciers with its triangular gables and porches, and Rue du Jerzual, which links the main part of the town with the port.
Take advantage of some free time to explore the town at your leisure before returning to the pier in St Malo.
Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes.
