Discover one of the world’s greatest engineering feats: the Panama Canal. The Miraflores Locks are the first set of locks a ship must pass when transiting through the Panama Canal from the Pacific. The Miraflores Locks Observation Center offers a close-up view ships passing through the locks. By the time you leave you will have a good understanding of the functioning of the locks.
Back on the coach, you'll pass the Former Canal Zone, where the former American military installations are a reminder of the area's strategic importance. Enjoy a drive to Albrook Air Force Base, which has been transformed into a new commercial area and high-end residential district. Then, pass through the community of Balboa, where workers were housed and important buildings located during the canal's construction.
After this unique journey, you will transfer to the airport.
Please note: This tour is available to only guests whose cruise ends in Fuerte Amador. It will accommodate those transferring to the airport, with flights departing after 3:30pm. During renovation, the Exhibition Halls are closed at Miraflores Locks.
