Discover the richness of the cloud forest while you walk along beautiful trails and the most amazing shapes of green vegetation appaer before your eyes.
Your visit begins with a short downhill walk that leads to an open hummingbird garden. Many species of these tiny, lively, colorful birds gather here to amaze you with their spectacular aerobatics.
Next, cross the first of four suspension bridges for a bird's-eye view of the cloud forest. Each of these bridges (extending more than a half mile in total) stretches between 95 and 253 feet and is suspended up to 126 feet above the ground. Here, you'll see the mist-laden treetops, teeming with diverse flora and fauna that you'll remember for a lifetime.
Among rivers and natural cascades, your naturalist guide will point out some highlights. The most outstanding features of this misty forest include several species of bird, numerous butterflies, and small mammals, along with orchids, heliconias, ferns, bromeliads and other aerial plants. This is an enchanting experience for nature enthusiasts.
Taste some delicious aqua dulce (a traditional drink) and enjoy a hearty, traditional Costa Rican lunch.
On the ride back to the ship, you will stop at El Jardín to browse in the souvenir shop or admire the beautifully-manicured garden.
Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes. Minimum recommended age is 8 years; however, parents of children who are enthusiastic explorers and good walkers are invited to use their discretion.
