Day 1
After disembarking in Durban, a representative will assist you with your transfer to King Shaka International Airport for your flight to Johannesburg.
Upon arrival at OR Tambo Airport, guests will be greeted by their local guide and transferred to Sanctuary Mandela Boutique Hotel. Located in the suburb of Houghton, Johannesburg, this unique hotel was once Nelson Mandela's primary residence and is now a reimagined boutique hotel with 9 curated rooms. Guests will have leisure time to check-in and explore the retreat spaces inspired by Mandela's life. In the evening, a delicious meal featuring some of Mandela's favorite dishes will be prepared by the executive chef who previously prepared meals for Mandela himself.
Day 2
Upon your arrival at OR Tambo International Airport, a local English-speaking representative will be there to meet you and assist with your transfer. You will then proceed to check-in and board your flight to Maun, Botswana. Once you arrive at Maun international, you will check-in for a shared light aircraft flight to Sanctuary Stanley’s Camp.
Hidden deep in a private concession bordering the renowned Moremi Game Reserve is Sanctuary Stanley’s Camp, a hymn to sustainable architecture and understated elegance set under the dappled shade of mature ebony and sausage trees.
Every detail of this traditional canvas tented camp has been considered to minimise its environmental footprint and sing with contemporary African design, offset by eclectic antiques that conjure the spirit of the camp’s Victorian namesake, the adventurer, Henry Stanley.
Upon arrival at the airstrip, staff from the lodge will meet and transfer you to the camp. On arrival at Stanleys Camp, check-in with time at leisure. Enjoy afternoon tea prior to your afternoon game activity.
After your afternoon game activity, return to the camp for dinner.
Day 3
Start your day with an early wake-up call and enjoy coffee and biscuits before embarking on your morning game activity. Depending on the water levels, you will either go on a morning game drive to witness the abundant wildlife and diverse landscapes of Okavango Delta, or take a mokoro or motorized boat excursion to navigate the waterways and lagoons, offering a unique perspective and the chance to spot crocodiles and plains game. A night game drive is also available for a glimpse of nocturnal animals. After your adventure, return to the camp for a scrumptious breakfast and some leisure time.
You can now enjoy an all-day snack menu and order food directly to your suite if you get hungry throughout the day. After your afternoon game drive, you can relax by the pool or on your private viewing deck with a cocktail. Lunch at the camp allows you more time to enjoy the facilities. For an additional cost, you can participate in guided walks or scenic flights over the Okavango Delta. Afternoon tea is served before your afternoon game activity, which can be a game drive or boat excursion. Finally, return to the camp for a three-course plated dinner.
Day 4
Wake up early and enjoy coffee and biscuits before embarking on a morning game activity. After the activity, return to camp for breakfast and check-out. Then, take a short transfer to the airstrip for a light aircraft flight to Chiefs' Camp. Upon arrival, the lodge staff will transfer you to the camp, which is located in the renowned Moremi Game Reserve. Named after Chief Moremi, this luxurious camp offers exceptional game viewing opportunities, including sightings of the Big Five. The camp is also known for its excellent cuisine and wine selection and has received high ratings from Condé Nast and Travel & Leisure as one of the top safari camps in Botswana.
Upon arrival at Chief's Camp, guests are welcomed with a drink and lunch. Check-in is at approximately 14h00, followed by leisure time in the suites before the afternoon game drive. The Moremi region is known for its incredible game viewing, with a diverse range of predators and large concentration of plains-game, elephants, and buffaloes. Visitors can expect to see the Big Five along with other animals like giraffes, impalas, zebras, and endangered species like rhinos and wild dogs. The area is also a haven for bird enthusiasts, with an abundance of over 500 different bird species. After the game drive, guests return to the camp for dinner.
Day 5 & 6
Spend two marvelous days at Sanctuary Chiefs' Camp, where your mornings begin with an early wake-up call and a delicious breakfast at the lodge before heading out for a thrilling morning game drive. After returning to the lodge, you'll have the rest of the morning to relax and enjoy optional activities like Mokoro Excursions, scenic flights, or spa treatments.(additional charges may apply) Lunch will be served at the lodge, followed by an afternoon siesta and tea. In the late afternoon, join another exciting game drive before returning to camp for a delightful dinner.
Day 7
Begin your day with a wake-up call and breakfast at the lodge, then head out on a game drive. After returning from the safari, pack your things, check out, and transfer to Chiefs Camp airstrip for a flight to Maun Airport. From there, check in for your flight to Cape Town, where you'll enjoy lunch onboard. Upon arrival in Cape Town, go through customs, collect your luggage, and meet your local representative who will transfer you to the harbor to join the ship.

Due to the popularity of this tour and strict booking conditions, this tour has a 90-day cancellation. Any cancellations made within 90 days of arrival into Durban will be charged the full amount of this tour. This will include if a guest cancels their voyage within 90 days of arrival into Durban, guests will be charged the full amount of the tour
Notes:
Bring sturdy non-skid walking shoes. This tour is available only to guests whose cruise does not begin or end in Durban or Cape Town. The contents and order of activities in this program are subject to change by the lodge management without prior notice due to the prevailing weather conditions and wildlife movement on the reserve. Early morning game drives in open vehicles can be a little cool -- bring a windbreaker. During the day, temperatures can be extremely hot. The game drive vehicle may not be covered. Shade is limited; to avoid sunburn, wear light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. Bring a hat and sunglasses; wear biodegradable sunscreen. Bring bottled water. Ride will be bumpy. Guests with back or neck conditions are not allowed to participate. Not advisable for guests with mobility limitations. Waiver must be signed and medical conditions disclosed. Wildlife sightings are likely but are not guaranteed. Participants are not permitted to use cell phones during the game drives or to speak loudly or stand up in the game drive vehicle, as this will disturb the animals. Smoking is not permitted. An escort from the ship's staff may or may not also accompany the group. You must book this overland PRIOR to sailing. Tour operates subject to meeting a minimum number of participants. Airport assistance and transfers, transportation by air-conditioned coach, all entrance fees indicated in the itinerary, an English-speaking guide (unless otherwise noted), water on the vehicle, and meals (as indicated) are also included. Gratuities and personal expenses are not included. Bring your passport with you on tour. South Africa requires two blank passport pages per entry. Kruger is a malaria risk area; see your physician well in advance of travel for appropriate prophylaxis medication. Maximum baggage allowance is one soft-sided bag up to 44 lbs per person. Hotels and Lodges are able to launder clothes but this will be at an additional cost and is not included in the cost of this program. Important information regarding visa requirements: It is solely each participant's responsibility to obtain any necessary visas, tourist cards and vaccinations to participate in this Overland Adventures. Seabourn will never secure visas for guests and the on-board team will not be able to assist with visas as visas should be obtained prior to boarding the ship. Visas may be required for any/all countries your tour departs from and travels through and for the country where you will re-join the ship.
