The third-largest granitic island in the Seychelles, Silhouette took its name from Étienne de Silhouette (1709-1767) -- French Minister of Finance under Louis XV. Legend claims that corsair Jean François buried a vast treasure on Silhouette Island. True or false? Either way, the island's white-sand beaches and mountainous interior are treasures in their own right.
Transfer by ferry to Silhouette Island -- a Maritime National Park dedicated to environmental protection.
Your guide leads you along a walking trail to the historical Tombs of Dauban and the old cemetery. Walk through the small village and visit an old chapel.
At the beautiful Hilton Labriz Resort, enjoy lunch at the beach restaurant. You'll have time to relax on the beach or explore the deserted sandy shoreline that appears to stretch for miles.
Back on the ferry, you will return to Mahé .
Please note:
The transfer and resort is not exclusive to Seabourn guests. Tour includes approximately 1.75 hours of free time at the beach. Bring bottled water. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen, a cover-up for further protection from the sun, and a hat. There are no lounge chairs or umbrellas at the beach. The beach is lined with trees, which provide some shade. There are no lifeguards on duty at the beach.
