Stroll to the Chuson-ji Temple – originally founded in 850 and rebuilt in 1105 which is now one of the most important Buddhist temple complexes in Japan. Its collection of temples constructed with the aim of realizing the 'Pure Land' -- an ideal world based on Buddhist principles. The Treasure Hall showcases more than 3,000 National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties. The Golden Hall, an original structure dating from 1123, contains an ornately decorated shrine with inlaid mother-of-pearl and Buddha images in golden lacquer.
