12-Day Northern Isles & The Viking Homeland

  • Explore the borough of Tilbury, home to a 16th-century fort. Then enjoy one of the most coveted river transits as your ship sails down the Thames and into the North Sea. This will be an exhilarating experience as we pass many famous sites.

  • Join the Expedition Team on deck to look for migratory sea birds and marine mammals in these nutrient-rich waters, or in the Bow Lounge to explore the many tools on hand to enhance your understanding of the ship’s navigation systems.

  • The picturesque village of Loen is the perfect departure point to explore the surrounding mountains and glaciers, including the sprawling Jostedalsbreen National Park, home to the largest glacier in continental Europe. A kayak trip around Nordfjord, the sixth-longest fjord in Norway, offers views of typical Norwegian settlements, farms with grass-topped roofs and magnificent waterfalls.

  • Our journey comes to an end in northern Norway’s largest city, Tromsø, but your opportunities for exploration continue with the city’s sophisticated art scene, contrasting modern and historical architecture, international cuisine and multicultural events.
