For a change of pace, head to Augustus Forum Winery, just a mile from the Mediterranean Sea. It's a vineyard primarily growing grapes for vinegar rather than wine, and it has a long history. However, a small portion of the vineyard is reserved for wine production, so you will learn about both on an immersive journey into Catalan wine culture, history, craftsmanship, and exquisite taste.
The vineyard is set on the ancient Via Augusta — the Roman road that connected Cádiz to Rome when the Empire was at its zenith. The first vines were planted here in the 1980s and, today, the cellars produce amazing vinegars matured in oak barrels. They have won international awards for their wonderful product.
This prestigious family-run estate is renowned for its commitment to sustainability and innovation. A knowledgeable host will guide you through a private one-hour tour of the winery and barrel room, offering insight into their unique winemaking philosophy.
Your visit ends with a gourmet tasting experience .
Please note: Not advisable for guests using a wheelchair or for those with mobility limitations. The cellars are not wheelchair accessible. Terrain includes even and uneven surfaces and steps.
