This tour takes you off the beaten track, venturing into stunning mountain scenery, amazing canyons and green valleys, and past small waterfalls hidden in the midst of it all.
Hop into a super-4x4 vehicle at Djupivogur's pier and set out towards the beautiful Stafafell campsite. Stafafell is a hiker's haven with popular trails leading through the incredible southeastern countryside. The area teems with various bird species and sometimes reindeer grazing nearby.
You're headed towards Hvannagil Canyon, where you will stop to take photos. Hvannagil is one of the most stunning canyons in Iceland, as it displays beautiful tints and hues of rhyolite and amygdale rocks, drawing geologists to its colorful formations that date back 5-7 million years.
Continue to Grenisgil Canyon and visit the lovely Grenisgil waterfall, as well as the hidden Skutafoss falls with a cave-in on one side. Walk up close to the falls and take gorgeous photos.
Returning to Djupivogur, sit back, relax, and enjoy the panoramic drive.
