Ponce, Puerto Rico

Ponce on Puerto Rico’s southern coast is a visual feast. The town has its own architectural style, known as Ponce Creole, which delights the eye at every turn. Find out more at the city’s Museum of Puerto Rican Architecture. Its signature building, the scarlet 1882 Parque de Bombas firehouse, is hard to miss. Ponce also boasts an abundance of museums. Its Museo de Arte is a world-class collection of European and Puerto Rican masterworks. The impressive Spanish Revival mansion the Castillo Serralles dating from the 1930s is now open as a museum as well. Alternatively, the waterfront Paseo Tablado La Guancha is an inviting boardwalk lined with restaurants and bars, where you can feed pelicans and watch the happenings in the harbor.
