No trip to Qatar is complete without a bit of dune bashing!
This adventurous journey takes you into the heart of the endless desert -- a 20-minute drive to Mesaaid in the south of Qatar. Your guide will stop to release air from the tires and the dune bashing begins. You'll experience the rapture of an exhilarating rollercoaster ride as a luxury 4x4 vehicle takes you across the tranquil sand dunes leaving you breathless and captivated. Mesaaid's inhabitants work in the oil and gas industry and from the vehicle you will see the oil fields and towers. The sand dunes rise up to 160 feet tall and are carefully navigated by your experienced desert driver.
There are two photo stops at the Inland Sea -- the natural border with Saudi Arabia. Capture the stunning panoramic views of spectacular sand dunes and the Inland Sea. Khor Al Adeid is one of only three places in the world where the desert meets the sea in such an extraordinary manner.
A short break at a desert camp allows time for refreshments before you head back to the pier.
Please note: Desert drivers communicate by mobile phone head set or radio in order to navigate the best route across the dunes, which can change daily; your driver will not provide commentary as his full concentration is required on the dunes. A road construction project is underway between the port and the city of Doha; expect delays.
