Discover the captivating landscapes around Antsiranana and unwind on a stunning beach that borders the bay. The Sugarloaf Mountain, formed by an ancient volcano, rises majestically from Diego Suarez Bay. While it may be smaller than its famous counterpart in Rio de Janeiro, it is equally breathtaking. Your adventure begins with a visit to French Mountain, a protected area renowned for its unique flora and fauna. Here, you'll encounter the sacred Suarez baobab, a peculiar tree believed to live for thousands of years. Often called Upside-Down Trees, baobabs shed their leaves, making their branches look like roots. After the stop at the FRENCH mountain, you'll head to the serene Ramena Beach, a spectacular stretch of sand along the bay. Take a refreshing swim and savor local delicacies such as sambos, a crunchy deep-fried pastry filled with minced meats or fish. On the way back in town, you will have time to purchase souvenir along RUE colebert, before joining the pier
Notes: Weather appropriate clothing; sunglasses; and flat, comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Bring a towel from the ship and a bathing suit if you wish to swim. Sunblock and sun protection is advised.
