Embark on a scenic drive from Mossel Bay to Oudtshoorn, a journey that takes you through the stunning Robinson Pass. As you ascend, the landscape transforms into a desert-like, arid climate with breathtaking vistas.
Oudtshoorn, the principal town of the Little Karoo, awaits you. Nestled in an oasis-like setting, this fertile valley is cupped by the Swartberg and Outeniqua mountain ranges. Originally settled along the meandering Grobbelaars River, the region provides fertile soil and abundant water for crops such as lucerne, fruit, grapes, and grains.
Pause for refreshments in Oudtshoorn before your return journey. Descend via the scenic Outeniqua Pass, a route constructed between 1943 and 1951, replacing the Montagu Pass as the main connection from George to the interior. The pass is named after the Khoi tribe that once inhabited the area.
As you wind down the pass, the sun-scorched plains of the Little Karoo give way to the lush greenery of the Garden Route forests. Enjoy panoramic views of the famous Garden Route as you drive from George back to Mossel Bay.
Conclude your tour by returning to the quayside in Mossel Bay
