The tallest mountain in the UAE -- Jebel Jais -- is part of the spectacular Hajar range that dominates the eastern part of the emirate. At nearly 6,300 feet tall, the mountains of Ras Al Khaimah offer a genuine, and unusual, mountain experience.
Hop into a four-wheel-drive vehicle and head to the outskirts of the city of Ras Al Khaimah. You'll visit the valley of Wadi Shah and stop for refreshments at Jebel Jais. The mountain is rugged, often windswept, and offers glorious views of the valleys below.
For something a little different, you will stop at the historical Dhayah Fort for photos. Enjoy the vista over the oasis, the blue waters of the Persian Gulf, and the scenic Hajjar Mountains flanking the other.
