Get acquainted with Buenos Aires during this tour that highlights the city's major neighborhoods and attractions.
Your coach winds through the narrow streets of the Old Town and broad avenues that mark Buenos Aires' modern growth. Follow the charming streets of the San Telmo district, and head down the colorful roads of La Boca, famous for its multi-color houses made of tin.
On a walk through the Plaza de Mayo, you'll see the major public buildings including the Cabildo, or Town Hall, the Metropolitan Cathedral, and the Casa Rosada. The latter is the presidential palace and it occupies a site along the original riverbank upon which early colonial fortifications stood. Later, after traversing the bustling banking and business center, you'll encounter the dramatic obelisk that commemorates 400 years of history. Pass along the magnificent Avenida 9 de Julio, reputedly the widest boulevard on earth.
Coffee or a cold beverage is served at one of the most traditional cafés of Buenos Aires -- Café Tortoni; then, you'll visit La Recoleta Cemetery and stroll through this amazing above-ground cemetery. The paths are lined with mausoleums and statues marking the generations of Argentine families that rest here in ornate splendor, including the grave of Eva Perón. Many traditional cafés and restaurants surround the Recoleta area's open spaces.
Finally, drive through the Palermo district with its magnificent mansions and parks before transferring to Alvear Palace Hotel and Alvear Icon Hotel or Ezeiza International Airport in time for your flight.
