Sharon Torres

Seabourn Conversations, Featured Speaker

St. Albans, the English city where Sharon was born, was founded by the Romans. Living close to their ancient ruins sparked an early interest in history and all things European. It’s no surprise then that her college years were spent reading modern languages: French, Spanish and Italian. Following her studies, she lived and worked in Europe, first in Paris, then Venice, followed by Madrid and the Canary Islands.

On her return to England, Sharon worked for Siemens in their Data and Information Systems Division, based in London, Philadelphia and Munich, during which time, she added German to her language portfolio. In 2000, together with her husband, they set up their own software company, offering online training programs for multinational organizations.

Specializing in "The History and Culture of the Mediterranean," Sharon enjoys sharing her knowledge with fellow guests. Now retired, her fascination of European history and travel continue. Her other loves include riding her horse, Boston, and spending time with her husband, Alan, at their finca in the Tramuntana mountains of Majorca.
