Humpback whales come to Klawock's waters to feed on plankton, herring, and salmon fry for the Alaska summer. Reliant on the movement of the food source, the humpbacks move around the islands here. Their glorious presence is an unforgettable and educational experience. Sea otter groups, known as rafts, drift along with the movement of the tide. Using seaweed beds for protection and as resting spots, they look cute and cuddly, but you'll learn how sea otter populations dramatically affect other sea life habitats in Alaska.
