Gam Island, Indonesia

Gam, an island paradise, is a vibrant canvas of nature's best work. It has an effervescent reef system and lush tropical jungles teeming with diverse wildlife. Among its most elusive and coveted inhabitants is the Red Bird of Paradise (Cendrawasih Merah), a strikingly colorful creature that thrives on the fruits of the forest canopy.

The island is also home to an assortment of other unique avian species, including the charming fruit-doves, vibrant dollarbirds, swift flycatchers, and regal kingfishers. Each bird adds a dash of color and melody to Gam's rich tapestry of life, making it a dream destination for nature enthusiasts.

For water lovers, Gam offers unparalleled underwater adventures. The island's crystal-clear waters are a gateway to an underwater world renowned for its manta and eagle rays. Like the rest of Raja Ampat, Gam's reef system is a celebration of marine biodiversity. The reefs paint an underwater rainbow, teeming with life and ripe for exploration.

On Gam Island, we will plan to offer a strenuous hike in the early morning to look for the elusive red bird of paradise. Those not wishing to join the hike can enjoy a morning visit to a local village, with a small cultural program.

In the afternoon, the ship will reposition off Kri Island (or similar) for snorkeling and scuba diving on its incredible reef.
