Walk through centuries of history with visits to two massive and impressive fortresses – El Morro and San Cristóbal – set at opposite ends of Old San Juan.

A panoramic drive takes you first to Fort San Felipe del Morro – the oldest Spanish fort in the New World, built in 1539. Standing guard at the entrance to San Juan, this six-story citadel boasts garitas, or sentry boxes, all around the fort's outer walls. The old cannons are still in place and the fort boasts magnificent views.

Next, travel through historic Old Town, filled with cobblestone streets and charming colonial buildings.

Your destination is Fort San Cristobal – one of the largest defense bastions ever built in the Americas. This impressive result of Spanish engineering was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983, bringing people from all over the world to marvel at it. Take time to see the chapel, genuine cannonballs, gunnery positions, and tunnels that offer a glimpse into the past.

At the conclusion of your tour, you'll return to the ship, stopping en route for shopping at the lovely Plaza Colon.

Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes.
