Relax on a 45-minute drive into the countryside en route to Ocana, a hillside commune known for its cobbled, red tile-roofed homes and pleasant remote setting.
Upon arrival, step inside Maison des Senteurs, a distillery where the Caux Brothers have produced essential oils and cosmetic products for over 20 years. Learn about how they use native trees and plants to create 13 different organic oils that are used for fragrances and natural healing products.
Next, head to Le Jardin des Abeilles, a honey farm run by beekeepers Denis and Nancy Casalta since 2000. This bee farm's 400 hives produce six varieties of honey. Walk through the flower-lined pathways and learn about bee behavior, before sampling an assortment of the honey made onsite. Pick up some souvenir jars in the gift shop before enjoying a lovely drive back to Ajaccio.
Once back in Ajaccio, visit the Fresh Market. Ajaccio farmer's market will delight your senses with its bold colors and distinctive flavors which become increasingly hard to resist the further in you venture!
